THE ROLE: 

We are looking for an experienced 3D graphics driver performance engineer or developer with relevant experience in rasterization and/or ray tracing to optimize or develop 3D drivers for games and other use cases on wide range of AMD GPU products. This is an excellent opportunity to work on the cutting edge of 3D graphics features and GPU architecture.

 

THE PERSON: 

You are passionate about game graphics and GPU, have good understanding about GPU architecture and have programming skills in HLSL, GLSL, OpenCL, CUDA or similar, in addition to general software development skills in C++. Able to communicate effectively and work optimally with different teams across AMD.  

 

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES: 

  • Develop or optimize driver design and implementation
  • Analyze shader algorithms in HLSL, analyze data from performance tools, identify issues and potential optimization opportunities
  • Brainstorm with team about potential solutions to optimize, experiment and refine optimizations and implement in drivers
  • Contribute to performance tool improvements

 

PREFERRED EXPERIENCE: 

  • Good understanding of GPU architecture, such as SIMD, threads, waves, registers, caches, performance metrics such as latency, bandwidth, throughput, and relation to underline hardware, etc
  • Good understanding of GPU graphics pipeline, such as vertices, primitives, rasterization, shading, textures, screen space, Z depth, culling, BVH build and ray tracing traversal, and etc
  • Strong C/C++ programming skills for fast execution using light weight data structures and efficient algorithms, bit manipulation, pointers, arrays, classes, virtual functions, etc
  • Experience in HLSL, GLSL, OpenCL, CUDA or similar

 

ACADEMIC CREDENTIALS: 

  • Bachelor’s or Master's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or equivalent
