We are now looking for a new part of our team and that’s why we have the need for a Junior Accountant. This wide-ranging role would suit someone that has already taken the first steps in an industry Accounting or Finance career and is looking to expand on this experience.

The role will primarily be supporting our transactional processing and purchasing functions but will also get involved in financial reporting and statutory accounting. A desire to learn and get involved would be a big plus for the right candidate.

You will have your own duties and responsibilities to manage day to day, but the role will also be ad hoc in nature at times, which means any two days will not be the same, and there will be plenty of opportunity to get involved in all types of finance work.

Key Responsibilities

As the Junior Accountant you will assist with book-keeping and processing of documents. Your focus will be to assists with monthly and annual financial closing and reporting, reconciling bank statements with the daily imported data and also supporting VAT and Intrastat reporting. You will support the Head of Finance and accounting with reports, forecasts and budget preparation.

You will also participate in yearly assets stock-taking process and provide coverage during absence of the Head of Finance and accounting, so a flexible but detail-oriented approach is needed.

Main Responsibilities

• Daily posting and accounting of primary and secondary accounting documents in accordance with Bulgarian legislation and corporate requirements involved in month end close (close transaction, reconciliations incl. intercompany, analytics)
• Ensure accuracy of daily accounting transactions
• Supports the month-end and year-end closing process
• Responsible for certain aspects of the month-end close process including journal entry preparations (e.g., accruals, prepaid and reclassification, etc.), balance sheet reconciliations, and analytics
• Intercompany transactions and reconciliations
• VAT declarations
• Support the line manager in preparing statutory accounts, projects and prepare ad hoc analysis
• Special projects as requested
• Participate in the new ERP implementation

Knowledge, Skill and Experience

Essential

• University degree in Accounting, Business or Economics
• Relevant accounting experience
• Fluency in English
• Excellent advanced Excel skills, MS office
• Analytical skills, detailed oriented
• Ability for learn new skills
• Ability to prioritise and multi-task whilst meeting deadlines

Desirable

• Knowledge of accounting systems
• Previous experience in a tech industry environment, especially in a finance role
