The opportunity

Unity is seeking a top tier candidate for the Company’s reporting and accounting policy team. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, self-motivated, team player with a very strong working knowledge of GAAP, SEC regulations, and internal controls. The manager will partner cross functionally with Accounting, Legal, Sales, and Finance teams to drive appropriate accounting conclusions and deliver results.

This is a hybrid position based in our Bangalore office. General working hours for this role will be 2pm-10pm IST during the weekdays.

What you'll be doing

• Maintain and update global accounting policies, including the adoption of new accounting standards in accordance with US GAAP
• Collaborate with key stakeholders by responding to technical accounting inquiries and prepare accounting memorandums for non-standard accounting transactions, specifically in the areas of revenue recognition, stock compensation and business combinations
• Review accounting memos prepared by global accounting teams to ensure they comply with company accounting policies and US GAAP
• Perform first level review of significant contract reviews prepared by the revenue accounting team, serving as a subject matter expert
• Support the SEC reporting team in the preparation and review of financial statements and footnote schedules needed to support 10Q/10K filings
• Ensure the internal controls related to accounting policies are designed, implemented and operating effectively for SOX compliance
• Support the company in completing special projects, as assigned
• Prepare ad-hoc reporting based on inquiries received from third parties (i.e. government bodies) and/or our internal business partners

What you're looking for

• Bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance
• 7+ years of experience; Big 4 and similar experience with public companies preferred
• Comprehensive and current understanding of U.S. GAAP and SEC reporting principles and regulations, specifically revenue recognition and stock compensation
• Chartered Accountant or equivalent certification required
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to synthesize and convey information concisely
• Experience with larger ERP systems, Workday Financials and/or NetSuite
