WHAT YOU DO AT AMD CHANGES EVERYTHING
We care deeply about transforming lives with AMD technology to enrich our industry, our communities, and the world. Our mission is to build great products that accelerate next-generation computing experiences – the building blocks for the data center, artificial intelligence, PCs, gaming and embedded. Underpinning our mission is the AMD culture. We push the limits of innovation to solve the world’s most important challenges. We strive for execution excellence while being direct, humble, collaborative, and inclusive of diverse perspectives.
AMD together we advance_
THE ROLE:
We are recruiting outstanding engineers with a passion for signal processing/wireless communications and lead the definition, specification of AMD next-generation architectures. You will be at the forefront of identifying, specifying, and developing new architectures for accelerating signal processing and how they will impact AMD next-generation products. You will be following the latest trends on the application of AI/ML to signal processing algorithms and how they will impact AMD next-gen products. You will join a team whose architecture and systems activities cover a wide range of disciplines including machine learning for data center (HPC) and embedded computing applications; emerging memory technologies; on-chip interconnects; specification, modeling, and analysis of modern heterogeneous multicore architectures.
THE PERSON:
You have a passion for analyzing modern signal processing and wireless communications workloads and enjoy staying up to date with the latest developments in the field. You have strong analytical and problem-solving skills and are willing to learn and ready to take on problems.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Workload analysis and application mapping of signal processing algorithms on modern heterogeneous multicore architectures
- Creating and using analytical performance projection tools targeting signal processing and AI/ML applications running on modern heterogeneous multicore architectures
- Provide results/reports that drive the definition and specification of the next-generation architectures
- Technical interaction with internal engineering teams and AMD customers
PREFERRED EXPERIENCE:
- Strong background in signal processing/wireless communications is a must
- Experience with implementing signal processing algorithms (FFT, matrix multiplication, polyphase filters) on vector processors is desirable but not a must
- Understanding of the state of the art/emerging application of ML algorithms to signal processing and their mapping onto modern heterogeneous multicore architectures
- Strong experience with prototyping signal processing algorithms in Matlab
- Experienced in using popular ML frameworks, such as Pytorch, Tensorflow, ONNX
- Strong C/C++ programming experience and scripting skills (python/shell)
- Effective communication and problem-solving skills
ACADEMIC CREDENTIALS:
- Bachelor’s or Master's or PhD degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or equivalent
Location:
- San Jose, CA
