Contract: Intern (Temporary - 6 months)

The Challenge Ahead

We are DICE, the award-winning studio based in Stockholm, Sweden, best known for creating the phenomenally successful 20-years old Battlefield franchise. We believe our people are the backbone and driving force to our creative products, and are always looking for diverse game creators to help us build the best Battlefield experiences and make our studio the best in the industry.

We're looking for an Animation Intern like yourself to join us in our mission to create amazing games and experiences, and to improve ourselves and our craft.

Responsibilities:

  • You will work with motion capture data or create animation from reference.
  • You will collect and record reference material for the task at hand.
  • You will balance effort and quality against the intended purpose of the asset to create assets that live up to our visual and technical targets.
  • You will work with designers and coders and implement features in ANT/Frostbite
  • You will test and debug your assets in the game.
  • You will collaborate and discuss artistic and technical challenges with colleagues.
  • You will create briefs, review results and provide feedback when needed.
  • You will seek feedback on your own work not just from your lead or director but from other disciplines as well.
  • You will create previzes, block out scenes and provide examples or references from outside sources.

Qualifications:

  • You must be currently enrolled at a university or education provider that has a planned internship period planned. For example, LiA.
  • Eligible to work in Stockholm, Sweden, without the need for visa/relocation support
  • Available to start a full-time internship in September 2024

Desired Skills:

  • You have artistic qualities and are excellent at interpreting reference and in-game examples.
  • You have a solid appreciation and understanding of how things are moving in real-life together with a sense of style and willingness to work with actors and stunt performers to create realistic human motion for our projects.
  • You understand technical workflows for typical character animation systems within games You are creating assets with efficiency while being mindful of performance and production constraints.
  • You are well versed with standard rigs and tools within Maya / Motionbuilder.
