Welcome to Solid State Studios. We’re a new in-house studio within Activision, dedicated to developing the best AAA mobile games in the world. Your Mission
Activision is looking an exceptional art director to help us drive quality and consistency for Call of Duty: Warzone Mobile. Priorities can often change in a fast-paced environment like ours, so this role includes, but is not limited to, the following responsibilities:
Lead the art discipline across all art teams involved in making and supporting Call of Duty: Warzone Mobile
Pull all the visual components of the project together into a whole that is greater than the sum of its parts
Collaborate closely with cross-platform leadership, mobile artists and art leaders spread across our studios that cover the different dimensions of art to provide a cohesive and achievable artistic vision
Ensuring all the various visual dimensions of the game come together in the right proportions with the right tradeoffs, balance and consistency to ensure WZM is the best-looking game in the genre
Provide leadership and knowledge sharing across project art teams
Operate consistently with company and studio values to ensure a healthy culture and engaged teams
Player Profile
10+ years of experience as an Art Director or art lead on high fidelity projects
10+ years high fidelity mobile game experience required
10+ years experience developing games-as service required
FPS genre prowess required
At least one developed and shipped FPS title required
Ability to collaborate and communicate clearly and regularly to diverse groups across multiple studios
Expertise as an artist across all dimensions of game art from design, texture and modeling to VFX, lighting, weapons, characters and animation
High technical skills including experience with popular 3D art tools used in game development for AAA titles
Proven cross-studio collaboration, diplomacy and negotiation skills preferred
Comfortable and affective discussing the art and science behind making games look good, with engineers and technical artists
Passionate about games and have well understanding of what makes a game visually appealing and fun to play
Able to build good working relationships with other departments

Solid State Studio is an emerging team within Activision Publishing focusing on both publishing and live operations for Call of Duty Mobile along with Call of Duty: Warzone Mobile, dedicated to the development of AAA mobile titles.
Designed around the singular focus of creating the best games in our space, ours is a mobile studio like no other. Developing in collaboration with Activision studios around the world, work on a new AAA mobile game in the Call of Duty franchise has begun.

In the U.S., the standard base pay range for this role is $134,000.00 - $247,900.00 Annual. This base pay range is for the U.S. and is not applicable to locations outside of the U.S. Actual amounts will vary depending on experience, performance and location. In addition to a competitive base pay, employees in this role may be eligible for incentive compensation. Incentive compensation is not guaranteed.
