You will be an Audio Artist II in a hybrid role as a sound designer and music editor that involves music editing, and crafting in game UI sound effects. Familiar with asset integration, and understanding of the fundamental technical aspects of working in a 3D game editor is required.

You will report to our Studio Line Director. The location of this position is in Canada. We welcome on-site, hybrid, and remote working options candidates to apply.

This is not an entry level position.

Responsibilities

• Use a DAW to edit, name and organize sound files
• Work within the FrostED game editor to import, name, and organize audio assets
• Set up visual scripting logic to trigger assets in software
• Participate in location sound recording sessions
• Test and quality control of in-game audio assets
• Take direction from the Audio Director and Senior Sound Designer, and work as a positive and productive member of the Audio Team

Skills We Look For

• Two years' experience as a Sound Designer working in the Games or Film industries
• BA, Technical School Degree or professional work experience within Sound Design, Music Production or Recording Arts
• In-depth knowledge of audio theory and sound design practices; includes knowledge of waveform editing, equalization, compression, mixing, and plug ins
• Proficiency with audio software DAW (Reaper, Nuendo, Pro Tools, Sound Forge, Vegas, Cubase, or Logic) and audio plug ins (Waves, FabFilter, iZotope, or Soundtoys)
• Proficiency in authoring 5.1 Surround sound mixes (Music files)
• Experience with synthesizers and other synthesis plugins for sound effects generation (UI SFX)
• Experience with audio game development tools (Wwise, FMOD, or other proprietary Editors)
• Experience with any visual scripting program (Reaktor, Max, Pure Data, UDK)

BC COMPENSATION AND BENEFITS

The base salary ranges listed below are for the defined geographic market pay zones in these locations. If you reside outside of these locations, a recruiter will advise on the base salary range and benefits for your specific location.

Salary offered will be determined based on numerous relevant business and candidate factors including, for example, education, qualifications, certifications, experience, skills, geographic location, and business or organizational needs.

BASE SALARY RANGES

• British Columbia (depending on location e.g. Vancouver vs. Victoria):

º $93,700 - $153,900 CAN Annually

Base salary is just one part of the overall compensation at EA. We also offer a package of benefits including vacation (3 weeks per year to start), 10 days per year of sick time, paid top-up to EI/QPIP benefits up to 100% of base salary when you welcome a new child (12 weeks for maternity, and 4 weeks for parental/adoption leave), extended health/dental/vision coverage, life insurance, disability insurance, retirement plan to regular full-time employees. Certain roles may also be eligible for bonus and equity.
