About the Role
EA’s Broadcast Technical Operations team is seeking a Broadcast Engineer Intern to join us during the 2024 summer season. The internship will offer you hands-on experience in all aspects of broadcast engineering and operations. During your internship, you will work within our Redwood Shores studios and warehouse facilities, assisting our Technical Production Manager and Facilities Engineer in Charge with daily tasks. Tasks range from inventory logging/shipping/receiving, show prep, show execution, system documentation, and system maintenance.
Minimum Qualifications
● Rising college sophomore, junior, or senior with a focus in video production, broadcast production, communications, electrical engineering, or information technologies
● Working knowledge of VMix, Airtable, Miro, and Sketchup applications
● Working knowledge of Ross Video hardware systems
● Experience with online video production platforms such as Twitter and YouTube
● Experience with audio and video equipment in a broadcast setting
● Interest in broadcast engineering and broadcast production
● Located within driving distance of our EA Redwood Shores facility located in Redwood Shores, CA
Physical Job Requirements
● Must be able to work shifts that typically last 10 hours
● Must be able to walk or stand up to 8 hours at a time
● Ability to bend, squat, kneel on both knees, and climb stairs frequently
● Ability to lift up to 50 - 75 lbs. frequently
● Ability to carry 50 lbs. a distance of 50 feet occasionally
● Ability to pinch (10 lbs.) and grip (50 lbs.) related broadcast equipment
● Must be able to maintain a position within a space 3.5 - 4 feet tall up to 1 minute, occasionally
● Ability to horizontally transfer 50 lbs. on a push-pull cart up to 50 feet
● Ability to vertically transfer 50 lbs. on a push-pull system with upper extremities only
● Ability to ascend and descend a ladder
