THE ROLE: 

The Business Operations Director for the Data Center GPU Business Unit at AMD will play a pivotal role in orchestrating the operational aspects of our business, ensuring seamless coordination between sales, business development, supply management, and order scheduling.

 

THE PERSON: 

This role demands a highly organized individual with a keen eye for detail and a proactive approach to addressing supply chain challenges and customer demands. The incumbent will work closely with cross-functional teams to drive efficiency, accuracy, and agility in meeting customer needs and optimizing business performance. 

 

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES: 

  1. Demand Projection and Pipeline Alignment:
    • Collaborate with sales teams to forecast customer demand accurately.
    • Conduct regular meetings to discuss projected demand and latest customer orders.
    • Work closely with Business Development teams to understand pipeline and align on expected customer demand
  2. Monthly Operating Forecast (MOF) Management:
    • Partner with stakeholders, including Business Development, Business OPS, to finalize MOF numbers and assumptions.
    • Ensure alignment of MOF with pricing by customer, customer mix, and profile.
    • Finalize MOF numbers, profile, executive presentations & all commentary.
  3. Supply Request and Management:
    • Collaborate with relevant stakeholders & internal teams on weekly supply request processes.
    • Ensure that weekly supply profile aligns with customer priorities and orders.
    • Make priority calls with business development in cases of supply constraints.
    • Incorporate Return Merchandise Authorization (RMA) & sample demands into supply requests as needed.
  4. Order Scheduling and Supply Chain Coordination:
    • Work closely with Global Operations on supply mix on a weekly basis.
    • Update supply plans and schedules as needed to adapt to changing business requirements.
    • Ensure accurate recording of Supply Plan (SP) in the system in collaboration with demand planners.
    • Collaborate with stakeholders to ensure orders are scheduled and address any issues with order fulfillment.
  5. Raw Material and Component alignment to planning:
    • Maintain awareness of the timing for updates on new raw materials and Bill of Material (BKC) changes and potential impact to customer shipments
    • Coordinate with relevant teams to ensure timely updates to support supply chain operations.

 

PREFERRED EXPERIENCE: 

  • Proven experience in business operations, supply chain management, or a related function within the semiconductor or technology industry.
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret data and make informed decisions.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to collaborate effectively across functions and levels of the organization.
  • Demonstrated ability to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment and drive results under pressure.
  • Proficiency in relevant software tools and systems, including ERP and supply chain management platforms.

 

ACADEMIC CREDENTIALS: 

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Operations Management, Supply Chain Management, or a related field. MBA preferred.
