Welcome to Solid State Studios! We’re a new in-house studio at Activision, dedicated to developing the best AAA mobile games in the world. Our first project is a new AAA mobile title in the Call of Duty franchise and we’re looking for great talent from mobile, console and PC backgrounds passionate about their work, who share our belief in what AAA experiences on mobile can and should be. As a copywriter on the mobile Call of Duty team, you will partner with the marketing, creative and live operations teams to strategize copy for marketing creative and in game assets as needed across our consumer facing projects and internally.
This role includes but is not limited to the following tasks/duties:
Produce copy for marketing creative including ads, store fronts, social media, website and broader marketing campaigns
Create copy for in-game assets including messages of the day and a variety of internally produced asset types
Partner with the Creative and GTM teams to align on strategy and tone for various marketing channels (including in-game)
Keep up to date on marketing trends and franchise beats to improve ongoing messaging
Implement feedback received from content & marketing teams
Proactively tracks, prioritizes, organizes, plans and implements tasks
What You Do
Partner and collaborate with live ops and marketing to develop compelling seasonal creative execution.
Work closely with PR, go to market team, product marketing teams and user acquisition to develop and refine ideas based on insights and strategies.
Implement SEO best practices to drive web and store front traffic, when applicable.
Distill complex concepts into content that’s accessible to a wide range of audiences.
Support the Call of Duty mobile marketing team on marketing campaigns and content strategy initiatives
3+ years as a writer within a creative agency, entertainment brand or gaming team
Ability to switch tone of voice as needed, driven by evolving product, brand, marketing beats/strategies, and broader cultural moments
Ability to turn insights into breakthrough ideas
Ability to handle multiple projects simultaneously while remaining flexible and consistently meeting deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
Ability to collaborate with multiple internal and external stakeholders to drive business results supporting a shared vision.
Exceptional interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills.
Impeccable grammar with an impressive attention to detail.
Passion for gaming and a strong interest in the Call of Duty brand (an added plus!)
Bonus points - Can you rap? A master of wordplay to add another nuanced layer to key messaging and keep the audience engaged?
COVID-19 Hiring Update: While our Mobile Studio is based in Santa Monica, CA, we’ve transitioned to a work-from-home model and we’re continuing to interview and hire during this time. This role is expected to begin as a remote position. We understand each person’s circumstances may be unique and will work with you to explore possible interim options.
