THE ROLE:

We are seeking a Vice President of AI models, applications team to lead our R&D of AI models, use-cases and applications spanning AMD’s comprehensive AI portfolio.

THE PERSON:

The ideal candidate will have proven experience delivering industry-leading AI models in one or more domains, such as multi-modal AI models, large language models, vision models or recommendation systems. We are also looking for proven experience helping customers map  leading edge AI workloads to hardware platforms delivering performance, power optimal designs, while generating insights and influencing next generation AI architecture and products. We are looking for a unique leader with deep technical expertise and understanding of the deep learning technologies, trends and someone that can build and scale a world-class team.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Lead the development of the company's AI models and use-cases, ensuring that they are state-of-the-art
• Lead applications teams and efforts to map state-of-the-art AI models and use-cases onto AMD hardware, across all our products ranging from client to edge to cloud
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to influence next generation architecture and product roadmaps, ensuring alignment with business objectives and customer needs.
• Collaborate with software teams to drive ease of use of AMD hardware for seamless model optimization flows and AI framework integration.
• Build and manage a world-class team of engineers and technical leaders to deliver high-quality AI products.
• Drive technical innovation and excellence within the team, staying up-to-date with the latest advancements in deep learning architectures and silicon.
• Build and maintain relationships with key partners and customers to drive business growth.

PREFERRED EXPERIENCE:

• 15+ years of experience in Silicon development of processors and AI accelerators.
• Deep AI models/use-cases/applications experience and insights that are needed to deliver industry-leading products
• Proven track record of leading successful product development teams, delivering high-quality products on time and within budget.
• Strong understanding of the deep learning landscape, including trends, competitive landscape, and emerging technologies.
• Strong understanding of the latest trends and practices for AI frameworks like Pytorch, TensorFlow and JAX.
• Excellent communication and leadership skills, with the ability to work collaboratively with customers and cross-functional teams.

ACADEMIC CREDENTIALS:

MS or PhD in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field.
