  • Job Title: Corporate Counsel, Sales and Operations
  • Job Summary: The Legal department at The Pokémon Company International is looking for an attorney with strong finance and commercial sales experience to support our rapidly growing B2B business teams and internal operations.  This person will partner closely with Pokémon’s North America and LATAM trading card sales, finance and tax, and procurement teams to structure commercial transactions and lead strategic negotiations, Additionally, this individual will provide legal support to members of our Procurement and Facilities teams on matters aiding internal operations, infrastructure, and services. This person will work directly with the business, providing day-to-day advice to client teams on a broad range of commercial, and regulatory matters

What you’ll do

  • Serve as frontline legal advisor to The Pokémon Company International’s (TPCi) North American and Latin American trading card sales teams and lead negotiations with resellers, retailers, and promotional partners throughout North, Central and South America.
  • Provide transactional guidance to TPCi’s finance group, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, procurement, and royalty accounting.
  • Structure, draft and negotiate a wide variety of commercial sales, and procurement agreements including, services agreements, product purchase and sale agreements, and reseller contracts.
  • Advise stakeholders on commercial matters impacting the B2B supply chain, including manufacturing, shipping, warehousing, and trade compliance.
  • Provide advisory and transactional support on matters impacting facilities and operational infrastructure, sourcing of service providers, and procurement.
  • Work closely with legal team members operating in a matrixed department to deliver exceptional, holistic advice to client teams.
  • Contribute to the creation and maintenance of contract templates, policies, and playbooks.                  

What you’ll bring

  • Six (6) to eight (8) years of related professional experience.
  • J.D. or equivalent degree and bar license in good standing with the ability to practice law in Washington State.
  • Minimum of 5 years directly advising clients in commercial transactions with a focus on sales, finance, and operations matters, with proven ability to counsel clients in strategic commercial negotiations
  • Exceptional drafting, negotiation, communication (written and verbal), and interpersonal skills.
  • Working knowledge of US competition law, IP, finance, tax, trade, anti-bribery, and competition law.
  • Demonstrable experience innovating new processes to streamline operations and increase efficiency, transparency, and comprehension between client teams and legal.
  • Experience providing legal support for growth and scale of an expanding business, both in regards to geography and volume
  • Experience working with multinational corporations and/or client and possessing a strong ability to facilitate cross-cultural communications.
  • In-house legal team experience preferred
  • Written and spoken Spanish legal fluency preferred

  • Base salary range: For this role, new hires generally start between $125,000 - $148,200. The full range is $125,000 - $187,000. This range is applicable for the labor market where the role is intended to be hired.
