The Role:

This is an opportunity to join AMD’s CPU Core design team focusing Physical Design. This opportunity covers synthesis place and route for blocks over 1 million gates, technology enablement, methodology roles in construction, timing, power grid design and custom circuit design cache and clocks. There are openings in each of these areas.

 

The Person: 

As part of the AMD CPU cores team you will a wide range of techniques to build industry leading microprocessors. We are looking for people who have a wide range of skills that can look at problems in new ways and improve our products. We have opportunities to fill roles in several areas based on your experience and interests.

 

Preferred Skills: 

  • Solid understanding Physical Design tools and flows or custom circuit design
  • Experience in high-speed microprocessor designs
  • Ability to work independently on complex tasks
  • Knowledge of current sub-micro technologies
  • Experience leading small technical teams

 

Preferred Education:

  • Bachelor’s degree required with emphasis in Electrical Engineering or Computer Systems Engineering plus 8 years of relevant experience
  • Master’s degree required with emphasis in Electrical Engineering or Computer Systems Engineering plus 6 years of relevant experience
