THE ROLE:

We are looking for an adaptive, self-motivated design verification engineer to join our growing team. As a key contributor, you will be part of a highly collaborative team to drive and improve AMD's abilities to deliver the highest quality, industry-leading technologies to market. Specifically, the Design Verification Team is an integral part of AMD’s Cores Development Team, responsible for the development of the next generation processor cores. This team embraces innovation to improve time to market while beating performance, power and quality expectations.

THE PERSON:

You have a passion for modern, complex processor architecture, digital design, and verification in general. You are a team player who has excellent communication skills and experience collaborating with other engineers located in different sites. You have strong analytical and problem-solving skills and are willing to learn and ready to take on problems.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Understand design specification documents to create effective verification test plans
  • Develop/maintain tests for functional verification and performance verification at either the unit, core, or chip levels.
  • Build testbench components to support the next generation cores.
  • Create and improve current stimulus, monitors and checkers to support core level testing
  • Debug failures, identify root cause and create defects for the RTL developers
  • Provide technical support to other teams 

PREFERRED EXPERIENCE:

  • Strong C/C++ proficiency
  • Experience/Background with modern processor micro-architectures
  • Experience with RTL languages like VHDL/Verilog
  • Familiarity with SystemVerilog and modern verification libraries like UVM
  • Scripting experience like Perl/Python/Ruby is a benefit 

ACADEMIC CREDENTIALS:

MS in CS or CE or similar with proven experience
