We’re looking for a Data Analyst Intern to join our world-class paid internship experience. The start date for this opportunity is May 2025 (3-month term).
You will report to the Senior Security Software Engineer II in the SPEAR (Secure Product Engineering & Anti-Cheat Response) Automation team, part of EA Security. You’ll be working closely with the SPEAR Automation team, helping to uncover and present actionable insights that will shape security strategies for our game studios and partner teams. Your work will provide critical support to EA’s CISO and other security stakeholders, turning raw data into meaningful information that enhances decision-making.
Responsibilities
- Analyse data generated from our source code security scanning platform and deliver insights to help game studios and the security team understand security trends, risks, and opportunities for improvement.
- Collaborate with the security team to produce dashboards, reports, and metrics that answer key security questions from senior leaders and other stakeholders.
- Identify patterns, trends, and anomalies within data sets that will drive actionable recommendations.
- Assist in the design and implementation of data models that improve how data is structured, stored, and utilised for reporting purposes.
- Partner with development and security teams to ensure data from different sources is gathered, cleansed, and analysed effectively.
Requirements
- Pursuing a degree in Data Science, Statistics, Computer Science, or a related field.
- Proficiency with data analysis tools and languages, such as SQL, Python, R, or equivalent.
- Strong understanding of statistical analysis and data visualisation techniques.
- Familiarity with security concepts or a willingness to quickly learn about the world of source code security and vulnerability scanning.
- Strong communication skills with the ability to translate data insights into clear, actionable recommendations.
- We are only considering students mid-way through their college career, slated to graduate no earlier than December 2025. Applicants must be legally authorized to work in the US on a full time basis during the 12-week internship. Visa sponsorship is not available for this position.
Desirable
- Experience with business intelligence tools (e.g., Tableau, Power BI).
- Familiarity with working with large data sets and cleaning/manipulating data.
- Understanding of API usage and integration for data extraction.
- Interest in cyber security and the tech industry.
