Development Director - EA Create

What you will do at EA:

 

We are looking for an experienced Project Management Development Director to support a key partner game development team. The ideal candidate has a strong understanding of game development processes, excellent project management skills, and the ability to work collaboratively with various stakeholders.

 

You need to excel at:

 

  • Oversee and manage the Create development team process, ensuring it aligns with the game project's goals and timelines.
  • Collaborate with Create and Development teams to build a project schedule aligned to project milestones, development schedule and budget expectations.
  • Develop a project budget for all Create coordinated production activity, including recording and direct cost, motion capture processing, animation, outsourcing etc.
  • Align and coordinate with Create’s leadership on project dependencies and resources needed to achieve project goals and objectives.
  • Provide strong project leadership to the development team, ensuring effective communication, collaboration, and coordination within the team.
  • Escalate conflicts between game development and Create teams when necessary.
  • Develop and maintain positive working relationships with EA and third parties to achieve game development team goals and objectives.
  • Manage and report project development status, addressing quality and risk. Provide solutions that mitigate impact to project plan(s).
  • Monitor and manage project budget and schedule: facilitate regular review meetings and prepare plans that are representative for all Create teams supporting game development projects.
  • Maintain project management toolsets used to align and task the Create development team and artists.
  • Organize regular project review meetings and communicate development status: highlight opportunities, challenges and dependencies etc.
  • Coordinate with the Create Capture, Rigging/Blendshapes & Animation team(s) to understand, organize, execute and deliver to game development quality goal(s).
  • Coordinate solution-oriented approaches that overcome production challenges.

 

Requirements:

  • Minimum of 5 years project management or team leadership experience, with 3+ years of management experience working in a dynamic and collaborative team environment
  • University degree, Bachelors, or equivalent professional experience
  • Experience communicating across all levels and organizations
  • Experience in project management methodologies such as Waterfall and Agile

BC COMPENSATION AND BENEFITS

The base salary ranges listed below are for the defined geographic market pay zones in these locations. If you reside outside of these locations, a recruiter will advise on the base salary range and benefits for your specific location.

Salary offered will be determined based on numerous relevant business and candidate factors including, for example, education, qualifications, certifications, experience, skills, geographic location, and business or organizational needs.

BASE SALARY RANGES

• British Columbia (depending on location e.g. Vancouver vs. Victoria):
º $115,100 - $161,200 CAN Annually

Base salary is just one part of the overall compensation at EA. We also offer a package of benefits including vacation (3 weeks per year to start), 10 days per year of sick time, paid top-up to EI/QPIP benefits up to 100% of base salary when you welcome a new child (12 weeks for maternity, and 4 weeks for parental/adoption leave), extended health/dental/vision coverage, life insurance, disability insurance, retirement plan to regular full-time employees. Certain roles may also be eligible for bonus and equity. "
