We are on the hunt for an outstanding, results-oriented Director of Publishing to join Blizzard Entertainment and lead publishing strategy and execution for Diablo’s mobile and PC blockbuster release, Diablo Immortal.
The right candidate will be highly collaborative, passionate, and have a track record for building impactful marketing campaigns grounded by data and insights. They will lead a team and partner across a wide network of internal groups and regions to successfully retain and grow our player base through marketing and community initiatives and serve as the voice of Immortal’s players to development and other company stakeholders.
Diablo Immortal is a fast-paced, dynamic service with regular updates shipping on a bi-weekly basis. This requires excellent planning, partnership, and agility to efficiently connect with partners and players around the globe. Candidates should have a keen eye both for how to optimally market content as well as improve processes while balancing a high volume of information. A successful candidate will help us continue to operationalize our service while also forging impactful go-to-market plans for key game breakthroughs and promotions.
Location fixed:
This role is anticipated to be a hybrid work position, with some work on-site and some work-from-home. The potential home studio for this role is Irvine, CA.
Responsibilities:
- Lead the Diablo Immortal brand globally, protecting, evolving, and adapting what and how we communicate
- Build authentic, long-lasting relationships with our player base
- Lead communication strategy across Community, Public Relations, Consumer Marketing, CRM and other marketing teams
- Work with publishing leaders across regions to coordinate, develop, measure, and improve global marketing strategies and tactics
- Work closely with Product Management and Live Ops partners to advise business decisions, bringing new business opportunities to market
- Work in partnership with the Sr. Director and Consumer Marketing leads to identify regional creative needs and to help advise and encourage the creative development of core marketing assets
- Analyze performance data to help identify challenges and opportunities for Publishing and marketing overall
- Lead strategic partnerships and partner marketing initiatives, which includes 1st party partner promotions/featuring, co-marketing deals and more
- Work with the consumer insights team to identify gaps in audience knowledge and design research and analysis to address them
- Continually monitor local game analytics, as well as media and marketing program performance and make recommendations to ensure that business goals are exceeded
- Direct a team, coach and develop team members, share marketing standard methodologies across franchises and marketing adjacent groups, and facilitate knowledge sharing abroad
- Manage marketing budgets
Requirements:
- 8+ years of relevant brand/product marketing/publishing experience
- Experience working on games-as-a-service video games or other service oriented products
- Experience working with international marketing teams, evaluating, evolving, and facilitating great regional execution
- Ability to work closely with game development to build effective marketing initiatives
- Ability to coordinate with Community, Public Relations, and Consumer/Digital Marketing leads to build integrated marketing campaigns
- Strong presentation skills and the ability to sell and champion initiatives in a highly matrixed environment

In the U.S., the standard base pay range for this role is $120,600.00 - $223,110.00 Annual. This base pay range is for the U.S. and is not applicable to locations outside of the U.S. Actual amounts will vary depending on experience, performance and location. In addition to a competitive base pay, employees in this role may be eligible for incentive compensation. Incentive compensation is not guaranteed.
