Director of Competitive Messaging/Marketing
AMD is an established leader creating game-changing technologies that are driving innovation in industries around the globe. As a member of a dynamic and energetic AMD Server BU Technology Marketing team, this role will be responsible for driving compelling and consistent messaging for AMD-based solutions into global markets.
THE PERSON:
The person in the role of Competitive Messaging/Marketing is a skilled, creative, self-motivated team player with the unquenchable desire to establish AMD as the preferred platform for enabling business innovation across the globe through consistent, impactful market messaging. This person is responsible for identifying key AMD product and technology capabilities and developing messaging structures that crisply articulate the business benefits that target audiences will realize when choosing AMD-based solutions. This role works closely with product marketing, sales enablement, engineering, key customers and other partners to develop messaging that aligns AMD technology with impactful value proposition statements all backed by documented proof points.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Lead products and technology marketing message development for key AMD businesses
- Develop audience-driven messaging aligned to cross-business marketing initiatives
- Build technology focused messages and supporting content through coordination with product marketing, corporate marketing, engineering, sales and other vital teams
- Develop a strong ecosystem preference for AMD through compelling, solution-centric, “sell-to” and “sell-with” messaging elements
- Drive messaging consistency and excellence at all times through robust communications and processes to align with corporate marketing as well as across businesses
- Gather, analyze and distribute intelligence on platforms, market conditions, competitors and customers for business decision making
- Monitor competitor websites, social network, product review sites and advertisements to collect information on products, pricing, and capabilities as well as customer attitudes towards competitors and their products
- Communicate findings on competitor product features and performance to the sales force, key other collaborators (product, proposal, corporate and strategy teams) and management
- Provide intelligence to advise strategic and business development initiatives and marketing efforts, and to uncover key, practical information for business development strategy
PREFERRED EXPERIENCE:
- Extensive partner marketing/ecosystem solution marketing experience
- Deep knowledge of market development & technology marketing and messaging development
- Experience in a large, fast growing, fast paced company and/or in the high-tech sector
- Detail oriented with strong affinity for identifying and articulating how technology and innovation enable benefits for Technical IT Decision Makers, their budget owners and Infrastructure/Ops decision makers
- Excellent ecosystem and solution marketing skillsets
- Strong technology acumen from Edge to Cloud
- Customer centricity with previous partner engagement experience
- Demonstrated cross-functional communication, diplomacy, and relationship building skills
- Agility and speed in decision making with comfort in taking an iterative approach
- Advocate for diversity and inclusion

Degree/Major: Undergraduate or Master’s degree in Engineering, Business, Marketing, Communication and/or related field
