THE ROLE:

The GPU Technologies and Engineering (G&E) Operations Team is looking for a dynamic, technical, experienced leader to join our team. As a key contributor to the success of AMD, you will be leader for key operations initiatives. You will work across all of engineering and business groups to meet overall product objectives.  This position offers deep exposure to industry leading Graphics, GPU, Compute, AI, Machine Learning and related technologies and senior leadership.

 

THE PERSON:

As a Director of Operations, you will drive key engineering deliverables for our graphics organization including executive updates, key security initiatives and critical program status.

 

The ideal candidate has a high degree of business acumen, experience in IP, SOC, Software or Product Development, proven track record creating and refining complex engineering communication packages tailored for highest level corporate officers (SVP, ideally C-suite & Board of Directors).

 

Experience with silicon engineering process (preferably GPU or APU), from concept to production.

Will consider candidates at Director or Sr. Manager level.

 

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES: 

  • Own critical executive communications from GPU Technologies and Engineering organization to senior leadership audience
  • Manage interface with IT to ensure best practices for secure development and test as well as drive initiatives to increase protection of IP security & engineering efficiency
  • Drive cross functional program status dashboard, build deep relationships with key business unit program management stakeholders to ensure status is accurately understood
  • Assist planning of compute and storage resources, act as primary program manager on an as-needed basis, approve resource allocations for primary compute and storage PM
  • Drive additional operations projects including annual goals planning, geographic growth planning, budget planning

PREFERRED EXPERIENCE: 

  • Proven ability to drive multiple strategic operational programs, can multi-task effectively and manage competing priorities
  • Has expertise in graphics IP, SOC, and/or SW development, and ideally also overall product development
  • PMP certification is a plus
  • Experience as a liaison to IT desired

ACADEMIC CREDENTIALS: 

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer/Electrical Engineering preferred
  • Formal project management education, PMP / Scrum Master desired

LOCATION:

  • Markham or Orlando will also be considered
