THE ROLE:

 

Director, Program Management on the Virtual BringUp (VBU) team – the engineering team within AMD’s Central Engineering division responsible for developing and driving industry-leading pre-silicon system modeling solutions and methodologies, in collaboration with AMD engineering teams and industry partners, to advance product time-to-market. In this role, you will be responsible for driving success on key engineering and/or operational initiatives. Driving cross-functional alignment and developing comprehensive plans with strong program management leadership taking initiatives from concept and initial development through first wave program success will be a hallmark of your impact and value.

 

THE PERSON:

Extensive technical program management experience in an EDA product development discipline. The candidate should have experience both as a technical lead as well as a project / program manager. The candidate must also have a strong understanding of the EDA industry, verification methodologies, and verification tool flow development process, from concept to production. The candidate should have experience leading the technical and operational aspects of a multi-disciplined complex product introduction transitioning from development through first wave customer success.  Demonstrated ability to distill complex technical program status and issues to concise high level messaging and plan of action required. Ability to take in different technical and business views and perspectives and lead alignment for execution and success. People management and high visibility customer support management is highly desired.

 

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Drive technology definition, development and deployment adoption process across VBU cross-functional teams and technology partners
  • Collaborate with methodology and technology architects and key leaders across Incubation, Infrastructure, Platform Adoption, and Program teams to develop milestone and metric driven plans and schedules
  • Develop and deliver executive summary dashboards for key initiatives and incubation programs, allowing regular visibility of progress and key risks/mitigations
  • Work across VBU Platform Technology and Program teams to interface and prioritize vendor engagements across a variety of initiatives  

PREFERRED EXPERIENCE:

  • Proven ability to drive multiple strategic operational programs, can multi-task effectively and manage competing priorities
  • Expertise in EDA verification methodologies, EDA tool development and release process
  • Program Management experience in significant portion of new EDA platform release and adoption process, working directly with first wave customers

ACADEMIC CREDENTIALS:

  • Relevant academic background (Master degree preferred)
