THE ROLE:

This leadership role will build and lead a best-in-class Supply Planning organization for AMD.  The leader will run a diverse organization that drives supply for multiple product lines that support a High Performance Compute business unit, to meet and exceed company and customer objectives.  The leader will be required to continuously assess the right measures are in place, meet key performance indices, develop and grow the organization, establish pipeline of talent, and drive process and systems excellence.  The candidate will have intolerance of status quo, intellectual curiosity, ability to effectively collaborate and influence across global functions, comfortable with uncertainty, inspires high achievement, is resilient in the face of challenge and is an effective communicator that can simplify messaging for a complex situation.

 

The leader will ensure supply is positioned for both NPI and high volume sustaining products and collaborate with key stakeholders & functions on dependencies (e.g.  material flow, capacity, parametric data, demand, etc.) and managing exceptions on a real time basis. This role demands customer focus, strong decision-making capabilities, agility, and excellent communication skills to effectively manage supply across multiple functions & geographies

 

 

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Build, manage, lead and grow a diverse Supply Planning organization
  • Innovate, inspire and lead the transformation of AMD Supply Planning into a world-class, scalable and sustainable platform
  • Responsible for all aspects of supply from the near-term tactical to NPI’s and long-range planning (i.e. Weekly, Quarterly, Annual commitments).
  • Owns the executive relationship to the Business Unit and continuously drives alignment of supply and demand.
  • Effectively builds product support plans and creates contingency plans to manage risk.
  • Work closely with partners, stakeholders, executives, vendors and customers across the enterprise to understand needs
  • Drive best practices across the organization and continuously seek opportunities to improve systems & tools
  • Establishes and measures KPIs, applies statistical methods and drives performance for on-time delivery, revenue attainment, tool efficiency (Kinaxis) and order scheduling and stability.

 

PREFERRED EXPERIENCE:

  • Progressive senior global leadership experience in Supply Planning for a Fortune 100 technology company, with education, training, career-track and progressive background and expertise in Operations and Supply Chain Management.
  • Ability to engage in collaborative problem-solving efforts with C-level management and external contacts.
  • Strong leadership and communications skills.
  • Strong business acumen and analytical mindset; able to comprehend financial models of the business and able to think and act strategically in the interests of the whole business.
  • Action-oriented, agile, and able to work proficiently across a complex, highly matrixed environment
  • Eye for detail and execute decisively with good judgment in fast-paced, high-stress environments
  • Ability to navigate through change and uncertain situations, providing clarity for others
  • Prior leadership experiences in building and running high performance organizations.
  • Strong experience with SAP, Rapid Response a plus.
