As a System Debug Engineer at AMD, you will be an integral part of the Server DPPM Execution and Debug team. In this position, your responsibilities will include conducting platform and DPPM debugging for AMD server processors. Collaborating closely with Hardware System Engineering teams and other stakeholders, you will play a key role in driving enhancements to the debugging process.

The Person:

The AMD Server Platform Validation Team is seeking a proactive DPPM Debug Engineer to join our expanding team, concentrating on the EPYC server processors. The ideal candidate should possess a solid grasp of the overall silicon manufacturing engineering process, along with exceptional verbal and written communication skills. 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for performing second-level debugging for product issues and addressing testing  obstacles in a data center environment.
  • Oversee and monitor technical issues, risks, and priorities while managing team communications, including updates on program status, potential risks, and opportunities.
  • Enhance debugging capabilities and methodologies by identifying recurring challenges or barriers to efficient debugging and collaborating with partner organizations to promote innovation in platform architecture, design, tools, and techniques. 

 

Preferred Experience:

  • 3+ years of expertise in product and test engineering, with a focus on silicon debug and failure analysis/fault isolation.
  • Solid background in semiconductor debug, fault isolation, failure analysis, and product engineering yield debug.
  • Proficient understanding of PC platform hardware, Operating Systems, Device Drivers, and System BIOS interactions.
  • Knowledgeable in Linux and scripting languages, such as Python, Perl, or Ruby.
  • Good communication and coordination abilities.

 

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Proficient in probability and statistics, with experience in Design of Experiments (DOE).
  • Well-versed in Design for Debug (DFD) and Design for Test (DFT) technologies. 

 

Academic credentials:

  • BS or MS degree in Electrical Engineering or related major with 3+ years of applicable experience.
