THE ROLE:
We are seeking a skilled Microsoft SCCM/Intune Systems Engineer to join our IT department. In this role, you will collaborate with various engineering teams to gather requirements, develop solutions, and provide support for our SCCM/Intune environment. You will be responsible for maintaining and optimizing the system, managing software deployments, and ensuring endpoint security and compliance. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in SCCM/Intune administration, scripting, and experience working closely with software and hardware development engineering teams. MacOS and centralized management experience (e.g. JAMF) is not required, but is considered a differentiator.
THE PERSON:
You're a highly motivated team player with a strong development background, problem solving mentality, excellent communication skills, ability to prioritize tasks along with willingness to learn and adapt. Excellent teamwork skills and capable of working independently. Top notch interpersonal skills highly desired, as this role has a customer facing component (e.g. requirements gathering, troubleshooting, engaging with business early adopters).
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Develop and maintain SCCM/Intune configurations, policies, and procedures to ensure efficient management of endpoints. JAMF Experience is desired for equivalent systems administration tasks.
- Scripting using PowerShell or other scripting languages to automate tasks and optimize SCCM/Intune/JAMF operations.
- Manage software deployments, including packaging, testing, and distribution to endpoints.
- Monitor system health and performance, proactively identifying and resolving any issues that arise.
- Ensure endpoint security and compliance by implementing and maintaining security policies, patching, and vulnerability management. Understands the compliance "drift" problem of medium to large enterprises.
- Provide technical support and troubleshooting for SCCM/Intune-related issues to end-users and internal stakeholders, especially in early rings of controlled deployments.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to streamline processes and improve the overall efficiency of our IT operations.
- Collaborate with staff architects and internal non-IT engineering teams to gather requirements and translate them into SCCM/Intune/JAMF solutions.
- Stay up-to-date with the latest industry trends and best practices related to SCCM/Intune and related technologies.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE:
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field (or equivalent work experience)
- 3-5 years of experience in SCCM/Intune administration and support in a medium to large enterprise environment. JAMF experience desired.
- Proficient in scripting using PowerShell or other for automation and management of Microsoft technologies. MacOS/Unix/Linux/Terminal experience desired.
- Strong understanding of SCCM/Intune infrastructure, including configuration, software distribution, and reporting.
- Solid understanding of broader industry endpoint security, compliance, and patch management best practices with experience across multiple endpoint management solutions preferred / desired (Modern Windows 11 support and deployment experience highly desired, e.g. Autopilot)
- Excellent problem-solving and troubleshooting skills, with a strong attention to detail.
- Effective communication skills, with the ability to collaborate with internal non-IT Engineering teams and gather requirements effectively.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
