Infinity Ward is currently seeking a talented Expert AI Engineer to join our team in Austin. The ideal candidate will have five or more years of experience in a similar role.  This is an opportunity to work on cutting-edge AI in the world’s premiere FPS franchise.  We’re looking for someone who comes to the table with new ideas but has the pragmatism required to ship a video game.

Priorities can often change in a fast-paced environment like ours, so this role includes but is not limited to, the following responsibilities:

• To craft best-in-class AI technology for our next AAA title.

• Contribute to the design of our AI and gameplay systems.

• Develop, modify, and debug AI and gameplay software in script and C/C++

• Deploy, optimize, and test AI and gameplay software on PC and console platforms

• Work closely with the design and content teams to bring new AI characters and behaviors to life.

• Proactively identify issues and fix bugs.

• Balance immediate needs with a focus on long-term scalability.

Player Profile

Requirements:

• 5+ years of gameplay development experience.

• 3+ years of AI development experience.

• 1 shipped product working as a senior gameplay engineer.

• 1 shipped product working as an AI engineer.

• Fluency in 3D math, related to game programming and AI behaviors

• Strong design sensibilities and outstanding communication skills.

• Strong knowledge of C++ programming and practices.

Pluses:

• Experience with animation technology – blend trees, IK, motion matching.

• Single-player AI systems.

• Use of analytics to guide behavior.

• Experience as project lead.

• Experience with AAA play-control logic, especially on an FPS title.

• Experience with game physics simulation.

• Experience with networked game logic.

In the U.S., the standard base pay range for this role is $121,500.00 - $224,880.00 Annual. This base pay range is for the U.S. and is not applicable to locations outside of the U.S. Actual amounts will vary depending on experience, performance and location. In addition to a competitive base pay, employees in this role may be eligible for incentive compensation. Incentive compensation is not guaranteed.
