Job Role and Responsibility: AMD, Inc., is hiring FAE/Field Support Manager to Develop, present, or respond to proposals for specific customer technical requirements, including request for proposal responses and industry-specific solutions. Reproduce complicated customer issues onsite at AMD for analysis and resolution. Work with internal engineering teams to debug & root cause issues. Develop, set up, and analyze experiments to collect data for guiding debug activities. Set-up complicated test harnesses in Software & Hardware to collect low-level debug logs. Develop scaffolding software to assist in debug activities both Internally & Externally with customers. Modify custom x86 diagnostic code. Modify, build, and deploy system firmware to assist in debug activities. Package workloads & customer test cases for internal debug teams to reproducing issues. Drive internal debug activity by playing the role of issue coordinator when needed. Communicate requests and capture information from customer’s validation, design, BIOS, Firmware, Chipset, processor, and third parties, as needed, to get to issue resolution. Apply knowledge of engineering principles, best practices, and technologies to the design, development, and testing various AMD products.

Master’s degree or foreign equivalent in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Electronics Engineering, or related field.

Qualifications: Amount and type of experience required: Three (3) years of experience in the job offered or a product or system-engineering role or related occupation.

Alternate combination of education and experience: Employer will accept alternate combination of education and experience: Bachelor's or foreign equivalent in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Electronics Engineering, or related field and five (5) years of progressive, post-baccalaureate experience in the job offered or a product or system engineering role or related occupation.

Specific skills required: The following skills are required:

With either combination of education or experience, position requires two (2) years of experience with the following technologies:

• Performing platform hardware and software integration and validation;
• Python, C, C++, PERL, TCL, or Shell;
• Windows or Linux Operating System;
• Server software ecosystem (OS/Hypervisors, Compilers, Libraries, debug tools, development tools, and validation workloads);
• Platform firmware features (BIOS, BMC, or SMU); and
• CPU, x86-64 architecture, and server system architecture.
