THE ROLE:
We are looking for a seasoned, creative, and hands-on engineering leader to join the Vivado software team in the Adaptive & Embedded Computing Group (AECG) of AMD. You will be a member of the core team of elite engineers providing technical direction and leadership for the evolution of the software architecture and next generation products.
If you are an experienced software architect with a proven record of designing, developing, and delivering large software systems and have a passion for deploying new technologies and programming models, we would like to hear from you.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Influence key architectural decisions and create collaborative agreements across teams
- Create high-level product specifications and design documents
- Evangelize and drive adoption of modern software engineering practices
- Implement and drive large scale software changes for our next generation products
- Provide technical guidance in the design and development of new products and new features of existing products
- Gain a deep understanding of the needs of our broad customer base and collaborate with stakeholders to deliver cohesive, end-to-end experiences for our users
- Mentor and coach software developers
PREFERRED EXPERIENCE:
- Strong background and multiple years of experience as a software architect building scalable software architectures and establishing software engineering practices
- EDA software development experience highly desired
- Excellent knowledge of software modeling methods, test driven and agile development
- High quality organizational and leadership skills
- Outstanding communication and presentation skills
- Experience with big data or building scalable, efficient, and reliable cloud services is a plus
ACADEMIC CREDENTIALS:
- Bachelor’s or Master's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or equivalent
