THE ROLE:

 

As the Financial Accounting Manager at AMD, you will be an integral part of a dynamic and collaborative team responsible for overseeing global accounting operations. This is a highly visible role where you will manage the company's monthly and quarterly close reporting activities, helping to ensure timely and accurate financial reporting. This position will offer you the opportunity to lead cross-functional teams, improve processes, and work on automation projects to scale financial systems. Based in Santa Clara, California, you will report directly to the Senior Manager of Corporate Accounting. This role provides a fast-paced, challenging environment where your contributions will have a significant impact on the company's success.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

 

  • Lead the monthly and quarterly worldwide accounting close processes in compliance with US GAAP and global accounting policies.
  • Manage close activities, including journal entries, reconciliations, and financial close meetings with cross-functional teams.
  • Prepare and present consolidated financial results and analytical reviews on significant changes to senior management and key business partners.
  • Maintain chart of accounts and other accounting system information.
  • Ensure SOX compliance within your areas of responsibility, including control execution, documentation updates, and supporting audit testing efforts.
  • Serve as the liaison with external auditors for quarterly reviews and annual audits, ensuring timely audit request completion.
  • Identify and implement improvements to enhance the efficiency and accuracy of accounting records and reduce time to close.
  • Lead accounting automation projects, focusing on scalable finance and reporting system design, implementation, and maintenance.
  • Provide guidelines and oversight for shared service centers supporting consolidation and financial reporting.
  • Support executives with projects, research, and supplemental reporting needs.

 

PREFERRED EXPERIENCE:

 

  • Extensive experience in auditing, accounting, or finance.
  • Public accounting firm and private company experience.
  • Strong knowledge of US GAAP.
  • Outstanding written and verbal communication, along with analytical mindset.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office products; SAP and Blackline experience is a plus.

 

ACADEMIC CREDENTIALS:

 

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance.
  • CPA/CA or equivalent certification.
