THE ROLE:
We are looking for an experienced and passionate firmware engineer to join the NBIO team for participating in co-development of IP that consists of a mix of HW and FW sub-systems. The primary focus will be on UCIe and related technologies and will span all stages of FW development. As part of the role, this engineer will work closely with other firmware engineers, IP designers and architects across various IPs in designing and implementing firmware that spans pre-silicon and post-silicon for all AMD SoCs.
THE PERSON:
You are passionate about high quality firmware development with creative and effective problem-solving skills, a motivated, self-starter who can work both independently and collaboratively in fast paced environments. You have excellent technical communication, interpersonal and leadership skills.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Participate in the architecture, development and verification of IP sub-systems that contain a mix of HW and FW components
- Implementing protocols to design specification
- Participant in day-to-day firmware development work
- Performance and system-level analysis, optimization, HW bring-up & debug
PREFERRED EXPERIENCE:
- Prior relevant embedded firmware experience combined with technical education within the semiconductor industry
- Experience producing quality firmware
- Experience with microcontrollers and embedded C/assembly programming
- Familiarity with RISC-V CPUs
- Familiarity with pre-silicon FW development environments including emulation and UVM test benches
- Familiarity with PCIe, CXL, UCIe and other I/O & memory related protocols
ACADEMIC CREDENTIALS:
- Bachelor's degree in Electrical or Computer engineering is strongly desired. Master's or PhD degree is a plus
