THE ROLE:

The focus of this role in the AECG ASIC organization is to provide technical leadership in developing microcontroller firmware for next generation ASICs.

 

THE PERSON:

You have a passion for modern, complex SoC architecture with various IO peripherals and heterogenous processor systems and digital design & verification in general. You are a team player who has excellent communication skills and experience collaborating in a corporate environment with other architects & engineers located in different sites/time-zones. You have strong analytical and problem-solving skills and are willing to learn and ready to take on problems.  Proven years of experience in a Firmware Engineering leadership role leading to an understanding of end-end development. 

 

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES: 

  • Define and specify micro-architecture of firmware components including boot, security, power management and other functions
  • Lead customer engagement to jointly define a firmware development plan and align roles and responsibilities
  • Work with silicon and system engineering teams to drive execution and issue resolution
  • Lead firmware engineering teams across geographies (internal and external resources)

 

PREFERRED EXPERIENCE: 

  • Proven track record in embedded firmware & RTOS development for SOCs
  • Extensive experience in ARM firmware and TrustZone technology
  • Strong C/C++ programming experience
  • Proven years of experience in a Firmware Engineering leadership role leading to an understanding of end-end development.
  • Good analytical problem solving, and attention to details
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Knowledge of CPU, AXI Interconnect, and I/O peripherals
  • Excellent knowledge of programming and scripting languages
  • Must have worked with third party contractors
  • Pre-silicon and post-silicon experience developing and debugging firmware, both on simulation/emulation/FPGA platforms and real hardware.
  • Strong knowledge of git and perforce.
  • Laboratory experience, including the use of equipment: oscilloscopes, logic analyzers, etc. to debug and triage firmware and lab bring up issues.
  • Knowledge of hardware level clocking and power management
  • Ability to organize and present complex technical information
  • Fluent in working with Linux environment

ACADEMIC CREDENTIALS:  

  • BS, MS or PhD degree in in Electrical Engineering or Computer Science.
