Job Role and Responsibility: AMD, Inc., is hiring Functional Safety Manager to Research, design, develop; and/or test operating systems-level software, compilers, and/or network distribution software for semiconductor operations, applying principles and techniques of computer science, engineering, and mathematical analysis. Drive changes needed within the organization to secure ISO26262 and IEC 61508 compliance. Be responsible for assessing and resolving product line compliance to the internal Safety Case Policy. Direct re-use of safety cases and re-use of designs through advice, metrics reporting, and timely escalation in order to achieve the required standards of leadership in safety and cost. Take ownership of safety process improvement. Take ownership for developing and providing training, mentor and assessment and be the experienced technical resource for the engineers in the product lines. Recognize when and how to address critical system safety topics with customers and represent the business in forums. Be the main contributor of the implementation of a work process that is aligned to the ISO26262 and IEC 61508 standards. Participate in evaluations of proposed technical solutions (in decided architecture) with the purpose to judge the possibility of developing and calibrating a SW solution. Participate as a representative of the FuSa team within system teams (for example when performing Hazard Analysis, FMEA, FTA, etc.). Plan and detail the system safety activities and work products in a System Safety Plan.

Qualifications: Degree required
Master’s degree or foreign equivalent in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electronics Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Telecommunication Engineering, or a related field.
Qualifications: Amount and type of experience required: Five (5) years of experience in the job offered or closely related role in the semiconductor/chip design/manufacture industry.
