CD PROJEKT RED is looking for a Gameplay Design Lead for Project Polaris - the first game in a new Witcher series saga - to help us bring our ambitious vision of this new, open world RPG to life while pushing the bar for narrative-driven experiences even higher.
Daily Responsibilities:
- Close cooperation with our Design Director and the rest of the design and production teams in order to deliver consistent, engaging and player friendly gameplay systems into our game.
- Proposing and documenting an innovative design for systems and features that follows the game direction.
- Iterating and improving documentation for existing systems and features.
- Designing, prototyping, scripting, iterating on features using a Unreal Engine 5.
- Taking ownership of specific features/systems of the game.
- Ensure that gameplay designs are clearly communicated to everyone involved in their implementation through documentation, meetings and relationships.
- Management, mentorship and guidance of a team of game designers.
- Acting as a subject matter expert, sharing knowledge with the rest of the teams and improving the process of gameplay design.
- Quality check and review ongoing development to ensure proper course corrections as often as needed.
- Participation in reviews and providing feedback to the team.
- Minimum of 7 years’ experience in gameplay design with at least one shipped AAA title in a Lead Role.
- Proven success in creating compelling and innovative gameplay mechanics.
- Understanding programming/scripting in game design and experience with game editors and game design tools.
- Experience in working with Unreal Engine 4 and/or Unreal Engine 5.
- Experience in leading and mentoring a team, fostering a collaborative and inclusive working environment.
- Proficiency in clear communicating of complex concepts, including experience in creating detailed project documentation.
- Passion for gameplay design and the ability to effectively share knowledge with other team members.
- Very strong problem-solving abilities and openness for changes.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to articulate design ideas and concepts clearly.

This job requires relocation to Warsaw, PL.
Working mode: in-office (in a hybrid or full-time capacity).
