Game Designer - Multiplayer, Gameplay

We are DICE, the award-winning studio with locations in Stockholm and Gothenburg, Sweden, best known for creating the phenomenally successful Battlefield franchise.

We are now part of a set of global studios building a connected Battlefield universe, focused on Battlefield’s one-of-a-kind multiplayer suite, with teams also part of the development of a single-player narrative campaign.

We are looking for a Game Designer with a focus on Soldier 3C to help us define, build and perfect moment to moment gameplay for upcoming Battlefield. Working as part of Core Combat you will tackle complex issues that require strong problem solving skills, ability to coordinate multiple crafts and drive features from start to finish. You will report to the Design Director, Gameplay.

 

Responsibilities:

  • You will create and implement different design features for Soldier 3C (Camera, Character, Controls).
  • You will design, prototype, and balance game systems
  • Aspire to create new game systems that push the product further.
  • Create and maintain documentation
  • Keep up-to-date with new trends of the industry
  • Work with the player in mind, make designs that center around the players experience
  • Aspire to create holistic designs where systems and subsystems work together to make a whole that is more than the sum of its parts

 

Qualifications:

  • 4+ years experience in game design, and game systems design
  • You have worked on released project with similar Responsibilities
  • Holistic industry and Franchise knowledge, specifically in FPS genre
  • Game Engine hands-on experience
  • Ability to work collaboratively with team members from different locations and different disciplines.
  • Excellent documentation skills
  • Be comfortable with iterative design and adjusting until quality is achieved
