Global Mobility Leader



AMD is looking for an experienced Global Mobility Leader to create and launch a new Global Mobility strategy that is in line with industry trends and meets the growing needs of the business.  This critical role will design, enhance, and drive AMD’s Global Mobility programs which include redesigning existing processes and tools to ensure an end-to-end solution for employee and business-initiated moves. A vital element of the strategy process will be to assess the current scope of the global mobility vendor support model and footprint and propose necessary changes to support current and future business needs.  The role holder will own the bring-up and enhancement of the vendor support model. This role is most successful where partnerships are built across multiple HR and business arenas to support the design, launch, and ongoing improvements of all deliverables.  Key partners include Talent Acquisition, Regional HR Leaders, HR Business Partners, and Center of Excellence functions.




We are looking for a collaborator, who is a creative thinker experienced in Global Mobility who puts the employee, the manager, and the business at the center of all process, system, and reporting designs.  A problem solver and self-starter, the successful candidate is a team player who can build networks quickly and adapt easily as priorities change. 



  • Define a Global Mobility strategy that aligns with both industry trends and the needs of the business for both domestic and country moves.
  • Drive improvements across the Global Mobility function by designing and building an end-to-end solution to include relocation, immigration, and tax.
  • Design new intake process for employee and business-initiated moves.
  • Design end-to-end processes with clear RACI, in partnership with key global stakeholders.
  • Assess global mobility trends and business requirements and present recommendations for the global footprint of the Global Mobility Team.
  • Assess vendor support model and footprint, and drive necessary changes to support growing business needs.
  • Build a reporting dashboard to monitor and report on all types of moves.
  • Owns the end-to-end transaction to ensure a flawless transition of employee data resulting from a move, domestic and country moves / Legal Entity to another.  Manages the hand-off of employee data from Talent Acquisition to Operations ensuring processes are in place to capture employee-owned and entered data within the SuccessFactors. 
  • Ensures that all employees moving to a new location participate in local onboarding and support the transition for the first 90 days, partnering closely with Global Onboarding Leader.
  • Utilizes employee and manager feedback surveys, focus group findings, industry trends, and benchmarking to build action plans to address gaps.  Present improvement recommendations on a pre-agreed cadence of HR Leaders.



  •  10 years + of experience within the Global Mobility arena an advantage including Domestic moves, Country moves, Ex-Pat assignments, Vendor management, Tax, and Relocation services.
  • An excellent collaborator with strong communication skills.
  • Strong change management skills, with experience rolling out large-scale projects and programs globally.
  • Strong vendor management experience.
  • Excellent collaboration and communication skills, great attention to detail with a high degree of personal integrity and confidentiality.
  • Strong project management skills, self-starter, detail-orientated problem solver who can prioritize well.
  • Ability to work effectively in a global company within a multi-cultural, cross-functional, and matrixed team.



An undergraduate degree preferred to a master’s degree is an advantage.



Must live in Austin, Texas, Santa Clara, or San Jose, CA but the role is work from home.
