Overview
The forward-looking architecture team at AMD is looking for a senior software engineer. Our mission is to research, prototype and architect solutions for GPU graphics and compute. We’re always on the forefront of hardware and software development and focus on fully integrated, top-to-bottom solutions spanning everything from the software to the hardware. The candidate will be working closely with AMD architects across multiple teams and contribute directly to the development of future hardware & new GPU programming models.

 

Key responsibilities
• Work on future GPU programming models
o Write simulation tools to explore the design space
o Develop test applications to exercise the API
o Help shape the API and the target hardware to ensure a smooth development experience
• Directly contribute to future AMD GPU architectures & future API
• Analyse use cases

 

Specific job functions
• Develop novel algorithms and prove them out using prototypes in C++ and Python
• Measure and characterize workloads
• Design, develop and maintain internal software tools
• Work in an environment with code reviews
• Summarize findings and report to other groups within AMD (Hardware architecture team, driver team, etc.)

 

Skills and Experience requirements
• 5+ years of professional programming experience
• Good understanding of GPU or CPU architectures
• Senior level industry experience
• Strong analytical skills
• Strong oral and written skills
