THE ROLE:

As an AMD Graphics Design/ Verification Engineer in the graphics command and processor sub-systems group, you'll play a vital role in ensuring the functionality of the Command Processor (CP). The CP acts as the critical interface between the graphics driver software and the underlying graphics hardware. It receives commands from the driver, interprets them, and then configures the graphics pipeline and compute tasks accordingly. This ensures efficient communication and execution of graphical operations.

 

THE PERSON: 

 In collaboration with the graphics hardware and firmware team, your focus will be on the command processor subsystem, a critical component within the pipeline. Good communication skills and collaborative teamwork skills are critical.

 

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Ensuring the graphics pipeline functions flawlessly and performs optimally
  • Contribute to the verification team's efforts to improve power consumption and overall performance enhancements for GPU and APU products
  • Good understanding and be able to analyze the interactions of hardware and firmware, programming models and applications. 

PREFERRED EXPERIENCE:

  • Expertise in ASIC digital circuit design verifications and UVM
  • Experienced in system or IP power management
  • Experienced in GPU hardware and software
  • RISC knowledge is a plus

ACADEMIC CREDENTIALS:

  • Undergraduate degree required. Bachelors or Masters in Computer Science or Electrical Engineer or related major is preferred
