TITLE : Hardware Lead IP CAD Engineer

 

THE ROLE:
In this position, you will lead/coordinate aspects of the growing 3rd Party Analog Mixed Signal IPCR Design Analysis / CAD team. Position opportunities include growth into areas of Program Management, Technical Leadership, and/or people management. Parallel teams within the AMD Circuit Technology division include Analog Mixed Signal Design, Custom Layout Design, and Post Silicon Analog Design Characterization.


THE PERSON:
The person who will be successful in this role will feel comfortable with growth towards task coordination and aspects of people leadership, will have good attention to detail, work well with parallel teams, will look for opportunities to automate throughout the design analysis workflow.

 

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
• responsibility for understanding, analyzing and ultimately supporting integration of analog/digital design components into the overall chip system/AMD product;
• Solutions expected to be a combination of personal hands-on analysis, and ability to coordinate/track analysis completed by topic experts within the team in furtherance of the overall chip system/successful AMD Product;
• Represent and provide status to upper management on ongoing and completed analyses;
• Coordinate/lead workload forecasting of the teams 3rd IP analysis effort as part of product roadmap updates;
• Investigating and developing innovative ways of automating/enhancing analyses workflows;
• Technical aspects include: Support/partner with members of the team during external 3rd IP Vendor calls to clarify design improvement needs, as well as interact with AMD internal teams to clarify expectations/find possible solutions if design issues encountered during integration into AMD products;
• Improve and promote communication, collaboration, problem solving, mentoring, and training;

 

PREFERRED EXPERIENCE:
• Exposure to Program Management concepts and willingness to grow in these skills.
• Experience with people/task coordination and willingness to grow in these skills.
• An in-depth understanding of analog and digital transistor device behavior.
• Basic experience in using command line interface with UNIX or Linux, scripting, Hspice, Verilog or VHDL, and drawing transistor layout are assets.
• The ability to develop well-structured and maintainable software is an asset.

 

ACADEMIC CREDENTIALS:
BSc or MSc in Electrical or Computer Engineering
