IT Platforms Engineering Team

ABOUT US: AMD mission is to deliver an Adaptable Intelligent world. Our technology enables our customers to accelerate their applications dramatically, often improving performance by orders of magnitude compared to other approaches.

AMD IT provides a globally available, scalable infrastructure for engineering and business teams. The IT Platforms Engineering team is responsible for managing our Engineering, Business and Accelerated computing infrastructure. Our mission is to provide a cloud like experience for employees to access High Performance Compute (HPC), Enterprise data platforms and Elastic Cloud for creating breakthrough FPGA/Converged silicon.

ABOUT YOU: You have a passion for learning. You are ready to understand how IT infrastructure works and delivers value to Tech companies. You like taking responsibility for end-to-end outcomes of your efforts. You want to know how IT builds great services from hardware, software, people and processes within a high-tech organization. You have a curiosity to learn new technologies, and are excited to work in a globally distributed team.

WORK RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Design and develop automation software in python or other equivalent scripting language
• Install/Configure/Support Linux OS and data infrastructure
• Design and deploy VDI and Remote access solutions (Exceed-on-demand, Citrix, VNC, etc)
• Help install/configure hardware within office/datacenter spaces
• Help build application services for IT, using cloud technologies
• Work with internal customers to provide support and troubleshooting for IT projects

EXPERIENCE/REQUIREMENTS:

Linux/GRID system administration with:

• Experienced with multiple Linux OS (RedHat/CentOS, Ubuntu, etc)
• Experienced in Python, Perl, Bash/Shell scripting or other languages
• Experience working with data (Postgres/MariaDB)
• Working experience in large scale HPC environments, On-premise and cloud
• Experience with cloud technologies from Azure/AWS/GCP/other
• Strong fundamentals in networking and engineering infrastructure services (DNS, NFS, NIS/AD/LDAP, Web services)
• Familiar with LSF/GRID environment
