For the Ubisoft Paris studio, and more specifically for one of its flagship games, we are recruiting a Lead RBS.

In this role, you will manage a team of five people in technical areas. In particular, you will work on :

Technology

  • Build, develop & share a solid technical vision with your team and the project for your area of responsibility
  • Act as a go-to person and expert in all topics DevOps (e.g. automation, infrastructure definition, configuration management, deployment, monitoring, continuous integration and delivery, etc.)
  • Optimize & improve your systems and software to reach client’s needs in terms of uptime, availability & resilience depending on project milestones (using monitoring, alerting, KPI’s, automated tests etc.)
  • Document systems and procedures
  • Be a key stake holder in the whole lifecycle of services, from design, deployment, operation and optimization
  • Practice sustainable incident response and blameless postmortems
  • Be responsible for the scaling of your systems and build farm in collaboration with IT
  • Administrate our version control tools
  • Actively keep yourself informed with what is happening in your field and in the industry

People management

  • Actively manage the performance of your team members, and share honest, regular, and constructive feedback with them
  • Consider your team's success and achievements as an indispensable part of your own success
  • Prioritize tasks, regulate pressure, and distribute workloads fairly, overseeing efficiency and quality
  • Make the best use of your team members’ skills and plan ahead what they will need to continue to perform
  • Show and explain the long-term direction to your team in an impactful and inspiring way
  • Make sure everyone is aligned and understands how they contribute to the team and company long term goals by breaking them down into medium term milestones and objectives
  • Take decisions effectively, keeping in mind the big picture and their sustainability in the long term for your team and for the company
  • Walk the talk and follow through your commitments, expecting the same behaviour from your team members
  • Break down silos and promote transversal cooperation between your team and the rest of the company
  • About 5 years of experience in programming in the software or video game industry, ideally in site reliability engineering or network administration (server automation, version control, build management)
  • You have experience leading and managing a team
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal skills, and collaborative skills
  • Experience managing complex build systems
  • In-depth knowledge of CI/CD pipelines and deployment tools (ideally for both SDKs and online services: GitLab CI, Jenkins, Team City or equivalent,
  • In-depth knowledge of infrastructure such as NuGet, Artifactory, and Docker/Kubernetes
  • Familiarity with cloud platforms like GCP, AWS, Azure, and OpenStack
  • Version Control administration experience (Perforce/Git)
  • Familiarity with JIRA and Confluence
  • Your fluency in English allows you to grow in an international team
  • You have experience with C#, Python or other scripting languages
  • Attention to detail, critical thinking, resourcefulness, and plenty of flexibility
