Role Overview:

Our flagship title Star Wars: Galaxy of Heroes is looking for an accomplished Lead Environment Artist with experience in game development, specifically in the mobile space. You will report directly to the project's Art Director and work in cooperation with other members of the art team. You will guide the environment art asset pipeline while maintaining visual and performance standards. We are looking for that magical combination of artistry and production know-how that an environment artist like you can bring to the table.

As an Environment Artist, you will:

  • Model, UV and texture assets, props, and ships, all within the Star Wars universe.
  • Work from reference materials such as photography and concept art.
  • Create realistic environments of iconic locations with attention to detail, layout, lighting and brand authenticity.
  • Use discipline knowledge in the creation of optimized and performant assets and Unity prefabs.
  • Support the development and integration of our existing environment pipeline.
  • Provide reference, feedback and review feedback to external partners as part of our OS pipeline.
  • Collaborate with our VFX and technical artists to maintain efficiency of in-game environments.
  • Demonstrate peer communication, time-management, and organizational skills.
  • Participate in build reviews, address bugs, and guide art quality through a balance of visual improvements and performance constraints.
  • Prepare visual documents that capture asset progress for reviews with our brand partners at Lucasfilm.

Requirements & Skills:

  • 4+ years of production experience as an environment artist; mobile development experience a major plus.
  • Experience working within the Unity game engine.
  • Expertise working with modeling and texturing programs such as Maya/3DS Max, Photoshop, and 3dCoat.
  • Experience improving upon existing art while also maintaining authenticity and quality.
  • Familiarity with version control and asset management software (Perforce).
  • Experience working in environment art pipelines.
