Our Amsterdam Office is KRAFTON’s EMEA Headquarters which covers the Europe, Middle East & Africa, and the CIS regions, with teams dedicated to Publishing, Esports, Content, Communications and General Operations. These teams support all local offices and development studios in our region.
Onsite, our Amsterdam Office also houses PUBG Studios which is busy with the development of an exciting new IP, currently known as Project “Black Budget”.
We’re on the lookout for a Legal Counsel to join our global Legal Team – a creative and dynamic legal professional ready to support our commercial transactions and legal operations. In this role, you’ll collaborate within a global network, contribute to exciting projects, and help drive KRAFTON’s success across the EMEA region and beyond. Reporting to the Lead Legal Counsel in EMEA, you’ll handle a diverse range of legal matters, with a focus on transactional support.
Basic Roles and Responsibilities:
- Collaborate with internal teams to draft, negotiate, and review a wide range of commercial contracts such as master services agreements, statements of work, license agreements, confidentiality agreements, and other contracts related to marketing, publishing, development, esports, licensing, merchandise, promotions, technology and privacy.
- Support HR and employment-related legal matters, including advising on applicable compliance and drafting and reviewing employment contracts, policies, and templates.
- Build strong, cross-functional relationships with stakeholders within and outside the Legal Department.
- Support legal operations for KRAFTON and its affiliates.
- Assist on:
- Developing and refining our contract templates and playbooks for consistency and efficiency.
- Regulatory work, including, monitoring and reviewing changes to laws and regulations, with an eye on compliance.
- Supporting legal training initiatives for business teams on relevant legal topics.
- Updating legal guidelines and best practices.
- Coordinating with outside counsel as needed.
- Occasional travel, including international, may be required.
Required experience:
- Some years of relevant legal experience, preferably in a law firm or in-house.
- Expertise in commercial contracts, with the ability to engage across diverse legal areas.
- A collaborative, team-oriented mindset with flexibility to work independently when needed.
- Flexibility to adjust work hours when needed to collaborate across different time zones and with global colleagues.
- Fluent English communication skills and a cross-cultural perspective.
- Bachelor of Laws and Master of Laws degrees (or equivalent) in relevant field of law.
“Nice to have” experience:
- Proficiency in Korean, Dutch, Russian, Turkish, Swedish, Czech, or Spanish language.
- Industry experience in video games, entertainment, or tech.
- Extra credit if you’re a video game enthusiast.
