THE ROLE: 

AMD is looking for a strategic software engineering lead who is passionate about improving the performance of key applications and benchmarks. You will be a member of a core team of incredibly talented industry specialists and will work with the very latest hardware and software technology. 

 

THE PERSON: 

We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated individual to join our team as a JAX/XLA Solution Engineer. The ideal candidate will have a passion for machine learning and a strong background in software development, particularly in the areas of model optimization and distributed training. Attention to detail, problem-solving skills, and the ability to stay updated on emerging technologies are essential for success in this role.

 

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES: 

  • Deliver ML model solutions using JAX-based frameworks for distributed training or inference purposes.
  • Implement HIP/CUDA-based features such as FlashAttention, PagedAttention, MoE-GEMM, and others using JAX and ROCm/HIP.
  • Optimize models for competitive performance and scalability.
  • Stay updated on the latest developments and best practices in JAX, XLA, and related technologies. 

 

REQUIREMENTS:

  • Proficiency in C/C++/HIP/CUDA programming languages.
  • Experience in optimizing models for performance and scalability.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.

 

PREFERRED EXPERIENCE: 

  • Master's degree or higher in Computer Science or related field.
  • Experience with JAX-based frameworks for building neural network models.
  • Familiarity with ROCm/CUDA and corresponding profiling tools.
  • Knowledge of MoE-Model is a plus.

 

ACADEMIC CREDENTIALS: 

  • Bachelor’s or Master's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or equivalent
