MANAGER SOFTWARE DEVELOPMENT – AI GPU Software
THE ROLE:
AMD is looking for a talented leader to join the ROCm math libraries group to help develop innovative GPU software solutions and features, bring up new products, and improve the quality of our existing software. The math libraries cover operations critical for AI and HPC workloads enablement and performance.
THE PERSON:
We are looking for a hands-on leader who will be responsible for building and leading a team of motivated contributors, planning software development projects, executing roadmap commitments, delivering software releases for internal as well as external customers, and navigating a dynamic work environment. This role also requires that the individual can work with stakeholders and related teams, and counterparts globally to ensure effective delivery of the projects.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Develop and grow the engineering skills of the team towards leadership AI acceleration
- Manage the activities of the team within an Agile/Scrum environment
- Participate and play critical role in planning project deliverables connected to AI clients and next-gen GPU programs
- Own and drive GPU compute libraries' software design, feature development, verification and release of solutions to customers
- Drive critical issues and interface with cross functional teams by building productive relationships
- Provide periodic management/executive updates
- Perform individuals’ goal planning and evaluations in accordance with AMD policies
PREFERRED EXPERIENCE:
- Demonstrated experience hiring, managing, growing, structuring and leading a team
- Experience in a hands-on software engineering, development, and/or architectural leadership role
- Strong C/C++/Python programming skills
- GPU/CPU optimizations experience, knowledge of AI workloads and executions on data center systems are plus
- Consistent record in engineering execution, and software delivery on time with high quality
- Strong project management skills and experience with project management techniques such as scheduling, budgeting, and risk management
- Strong Interpersonal, verbal, and written skills
ACADEMIC CREDENTIALS:
- BS or MS degree in Computer Science, Applied Mathematics, Electrical or Computer Engineering
- MBA is plus
