Job Role and Responsibility: AMD, Inc., is hiring Manager Software Development to Plan, direct, or coordinate activities in such fields as electronic data processing, information systems, systems analysis, and computer programming. Lead a team of computer scientists and software engineers developing GPU network software for high performance computing and machine learning workloads as part of the AMD Radeon Open Ecosystem (ROCm). The work spans all levels of the stack, including the Linux kernel /network device driver level, RDMA Verbs, Libfabrics and UCX, MPI/SHMEM and machine learning specific collective libraries like RCCL. Manage the day-to-day activities of the team within an Agile/Scrum environment. Work closely with senior developers, architects, and stakeholders to develop a long-term strategy and feature backlogs for the libraries and translate that into achievable road maps and project plans. Establish a software development process that spans the entire software development life cycle and work with her team of engineers and key stakeholders from QA, DevOps, and program management to establish and continuously improve that process. Work with senior developers and architects to develop the best technical designs and approaches. Manage, execute, and report progress against project plans and delivery commitments. Build and track metrics to proactively drive process improvement. Utilize knowledge of computers & electronics, including computer hardware and software, applications and programming, and design techniques, tools and principles, to develop resolution to critical issues. Apply knowledge of engineering principles, best practices, and technologies to the design, development, and testing of AMD products.
