Our motive is to create innovative action games within iconic worlds where every player feels like the hero. Let’s say that again—iconic worlds, where every player feels like the hero. Our passion has taken us from imagining dogfighter pilots in Star Wars™: Squadrons, to re-creating Isaac Clarke onboard the Ishimura in Dead Space™, and now to building an original Iron Man action-adventure video game.
As a Modeler at Motive, you will work closely with our Art Director and staff Artists to deliver, polish, and implement outstanding quality 3D art assets. You will also contribute to the art pipelines and help create, integrate, organize, and manage assets across all game art disciplines.
Responsibilities:
- 3D creation of Architectural, vehicles, weapons, and gadgets following Art Direction guidelines.
- Modeling, UV-mapping, sculpting, and baking 3D models.
- Implement 3D assets to the game engine, including external libraries.
- Texture creation, mask editing, and decal creation.
- Shader and interactive props animation setup.
- Optimization according to performance guides.
- Create guidelines and documentation to help fellow artists.
- Mentor junior artists to reach high quality.
- Support outsourcing with technical guidelines.
Qualifications:
You have a Thorough knowledge of the game development process and:
- Expertise in at least one of the main 3D DCC Maya / 3dsMax / Blender.
- Expertise in ZBrush or Fusion 360.
- Expertise in Substance Painter or any texturing DCC tool (Mari, Substance Designer).
- A keen eye for spatial composition and building believable scenes.
- Passion for pushing the state of the art in asset fidelity and production techniques.
- Expertise in low and hi-poly modeling for video games.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- High degree of self-motivation and initiative.
- Hard surface modeling experience.
- Experience with Unreal, Frostbite, or any modern game engine.
- Experience in industrial design is also a plus.
- Experience with Houdini and procedural tools is also a plus.
