Role

As a CAD Engineer at AMD, you will work in a fast-paced, collaborative, design and production role, in which you will evaluate, develop, improve, and debug in-house and commercial EDA tools and flows for the design, physical layout, and verification of signal and power integrity for leading-edge, high-performance semiconductor packages and PCB's.

The Person

  • Posesses a high level of expertise in multiple programming languages and the ability to develop similar expertise in needed unfamiliar languages.
  • Skilled at tackling problems on CAD and design methodology issues.
  • Clearly and accurately connect with colleagues on requirements and specs.
  • Ability to work effectively in a production environment and deliver working solutions.

Key Responsibilites

  • Design, develop, support, and enhance CAD flows related to signal and power integrity using state-of-the-art in-house analysis tools and commercial modeling and simulation tools.
  • As part of the signal and power integrity team, identify and scope opportunities for flow enhancements for throughput efficiency.
  • Write custom tools and scripts to integrate point tools into a highly optimized workflow.
  • Document and publish user documents and training materials.
  • Work with internal and external tool developers to implement enhancements to support a highly efficient workflow.
  • Develop domain expertise to effectively communicate with the signal and power integrity team.

Preferred Experience:

  • Scripting in HFSS, SIwave, HSpice, and Matlab
  • Scripting in Cadence Skill for Allegro
  • UI Development in Visual Studio
  • Have familiarity with extractions and simulations for high-performance CPU/GPU packages and systems. Familiarity with Load Sharing Facility (LSF) or other similar batch compute environments.

Academic Credentials

  • Bachelors or Master’s Degree
