WHAT YOU DO AT AMD CHANGES EVERYTHING
We care deeply about transforming lives with AMD technology to enrich our industry, our communities, and the world. Our mission is to build great products that accelerate next-generation computing experiences – the building blocks for the data center, artificial intelligence, PCs, gaming and embedded. Underpinning our mission is the AMD culture. We push the limits of innovation to solve the world’s most important challenges. We strive for execution excellence while being direct, humble, collaborative, and inclusive of diverse perspectives. This is who we are at our best. One Company. One Team.
AMD together we advance_
Role
As a member of the Signal Integrity Simulation Technologies Group at AMD, you will participate in the development, validation, maintenance, deployment and support of software tools and methodologies that enable the design, analysis, and optimization of dense high-speed interconnects and power delivery systems in AMD chip packages and PCBs.
The Person
- Experienced in signal integrity engineering of high-speed interfaces.
- Extensive programming/scripting skills for algorithm development and automation.
- Deep understanding of the theory of signal transmission and electromagnetics.
- Ability to mentor colleagues on simulation theory, assumptions, and limitations.
- Ability to work independently.
- Ability to work effectively in a production environment and deliver working solutions.
Key Responsibilities
- Feature upgrade and algorithm development of internal SI tools to support next generation SERDES and Memory interface simulations.
- Revision control, maintenance, and bug fixes of internal SI tools.
- Participation in industry consortiums/workgroups/JEDEC … to ensure SI tool readiness for future high-speed interfaces.
- Collaborating with AMD internal circuit technologies teams to develop transmitter/receiver models for SI simulations.
- Supporting SI engineers in tool setup and use.
- Work with internal and external tool developers to implement enhancements to support a highly efficient workflow.
- Develop domain expertise to effectively communicate with the broader signal and power integrity team.
Preferred Experience:
- Expertise in Signal Integrity analysis, design, and optimization of SERDES (PCIe, DP, HDMI, USB, …) and memory (DDR5, GDDR6, …) layouts in chip packages and PCBs
- Familiarity with IBIS AMI specification, model generation and simulation in commercial EDA tools.
- Proven experience in development of tools and scripts to enable signal and/or power integrity analysis.
- Expertise in Python, Matlab and C programming languages.
- Experienced in Hspice/Spectre/veriloga schematic and netlist views and automation.
- Proficient in Electromagnetics, Microwave engineering, Time-Series Analysis, Linear Algebra and Statistical Analysis.
- Proficient in FFE, DFE, CTLE, CDR, FEC and other high-speed analog front-end components in terms of circuit implementations and behavioral modeling.
