THE ROLE:
This position is crucial to AMD's Server Product Road Map and will be passionate about providing critical post-silicon functional and manufacturing tests for the next generation of AMD’s flagship CPU products EPYC and RYZEN. It involves research, design, development, testing of electronic components and systems for the semiconductor and related device manufacturing employing knowledge of electronic theory.

Is an analytical problem solver with problem-solving skills and excellent attention to detail. Possess excellent communication, comprehension, and social skills. Enjoy working in a fast-moving environment, multi-project environment using state-of-the-art tools and technology. Our team’s success is measured by diagnostic efficiency to find root cause design silicon defects early in the product life cycle as well as the speed/effectiveness of diagnostics in system-level manufacturing test (SLT). Key components of this role will be:
- Working to craft, code, debug and optimize software for the silicon bring-up.
- Provide hands-on expertise in validation, debugging and system-level manufacturing tests.
- Develop, execute and debug directed and random stimulus and assembly-level tests to find bugs in the microprocessor design and verify the functionality and verify conformance to the ISA on the emulator and silicon.
- Responsible to develop and execute on post silicon and emulation test plans at different levels of design hierarchy including all CPU blocks and develop high-level language test framework components including stimulus, drivers, libraries, monitors, profilers.
- Responsibility also includes developing the Cache Resident Self Test (CReST) pattern to target the CPU features and bin the parts in ATE.
Key responsibilities:
- Develop diagnostic software to verify the x86 design in emulation, bring-up, post-silicon, and manufacturing
- Good understanding of developing the CReST pattern and ATE(automated test environment)
- Perform unit and integration testing, debugging, post-release support and software configuration management
- Write development documentation and supply content to end-user documentation
- Experience with client/server CPU (X86, ARM, PowerPC etc.) architecture and Micro-Architecture
Preferred experience:
- SOC-level hardware and/or Embedded Systems Verification
- C / C++ and Assembly Language Programming
- Scripting - Python, shell script, ruby
- Power management (power & performance)
- Verifying Assembly Language
- Linux Kernel experience
Academic credentials:
- B.Sc. or M.Sc. in Electrical/Computer Engineering or CS or equivalent is required.
