MTS Silicon Design Engineer
THE ROLE:
Develop/Enhance emulation based pre-silicon methodologies and environment to improve perf/watt for next generation of Radeon processors.
THE PERSON:
- Strong understanding of digital and analog electronics.
- Strong analytical/problem solving skills and pronounced attention to details.
- Must be a self-starter, and able to independently drive tasks to completion.
- Ability to work across multiple teams.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Utilizing simulation, emulation and silicon measurement strategies to validate SoC and platform level Power
- Maintaining performance efficiency for Workloads
- Collaborating with designers and architects to achieve CAC reduction in upcoming
products - Enhancing diagnostics to enable competitive analysis and identifying opportunities
for improvement - Developing strategies and tests to identify performance and power inefficiencies and
characterize hardware - Working with RTL Designers, micro-architects and the physical design team to
optimize design for Low Power - Correlating power/performance between pre-silicon and post-silicon platform
PREFERRED EXPERIENCE:
- Prior understanding of GPU/CPU pipeline architecture; GPU is a plus
- Excellent knowledge of Verilog and a scripting language.
- Experience with Perl and python is a plus.
- Prior knowledge of OpenGL/OpenCL/DirectX is a plus.
- Prior knowledge of PTPX/Synopsys tools.
ACADEMIC CREDENTIALS:
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in related discipline
