Research, design, develop, and/or test operating software, compilers, and/or network distribution software for hardware system modeling, applying principles and techniques of computer science, engineering, and mathematical analysis. Design, develop, troubleshoot and debug software programs for the modeling and testing of new silicon designs and/or the systems they run in. Work closely with SoC and IP architecture teams to understand new hardware designs. Develop new software-based models and improve the functionality and performance of existing models. Develop new, innovative tools for the debug and/or performance analysis of software and hardware features. Develop regression tests to ensure proper functionality and/or performance of software. Work with internal and external customers to debug problems running their workloads in simulation. Drive projects or processes of significant technical importance. Exercise independent judgment to select methods, techniques and evaluation criteria for obtaining results. Demonstrate drive and ability to plan and meet development schedules.
Master’s degree (or foreign equivalent) in computer engineering, electrical engineering, or electronics engineering.
Amount and type of experience required:
Three (3) years in the job offered or closely related engineering role.
Alternate Education and experience accepted:
Employer will accept alternate combination of education and experience: bachelor’s degree (or foreign equivalent) in computer engineering, electrical engineering, or electronics engineering and five (5) years of progressive post-baccalaureate experience in the job offered or closely related engineering role.
For either combination of education or experience, position requires three (3) years of experience with the following skills and/or technologies: SOC/system architecture, functional or performance simulation/modeling, Unix/Linux environments, C/C++, Python, 2D/3D graphics, GPU architecture, software development and debugging (Windows, macOS or Linux/Unix), Git, data structures, and x86-64 architecture.
