Job Role and Responsibility: AMD, Inc., is hiring an MTS Silicon Design Engineer to research, design, develop, and/or test electronic components and systems for semiconductor and related device manufacturing. Duties include: Contribute to the development of multidimensional designs involving complex integrated circuits; determine and establish design flows and methodologies related to floor planning, placement, routing, synthesis, and/or optimization steps in physical design implementation; take ownership of complex analyses to assess timing, power, and/or performance of circuit design; develop and execute tests and checks to identify issues in signal strength, signal integrity, and/or timing flow; provide subject matter expertise in cross functional collaborative efforts with other engineers/ designers to debug complex issues related to performance, timing, and/or efficiency; show technical leadership in complex projects related to enhancing existing AMD technology and new product initiatives; and communicate status of technical projects to key internal stakeholders

Qualifications: Degree required
Master’s degree in computer engineering, electronics engineering, or electrical engineering (or foreign equivalent)
Qualifications: Amount and type of experience required: 36 months in job offered or closely related engineering role.
Alternate combination of education and experience: Bachelor’s Degree in computer engineering, electronics engineering, or electrical engineering (or foreign equivalent) or related field, and 60 months of progressive, post baccalaureate experience in the job offered or closely related engineering role. Employer will accept any suitable combination of education, training, or experience.

With either combination of education or experience, position requires three (3) years of experience with the following technologies and/or skills: CAD tools, ASIC design, physical design of deep submicron digital ASIC chips, large scale ASIC chip physical design, submicron design flow, ASIC design tools (synthesis, simulation, equivalence checking, static timing analysis), back-end (physical design) EDA tools, Unix/Linux environments, physical design (PD) process, and TCL
